Lowe was founded in 1971 to build high value aluminum boats and canoes to fit a family's boating needs.

In 1975, Lowe Line built its first dedicated bass boats; the 15' Stinger and 16' SS Hustler. Featuring innovations such as adjustable chairs and raised casting decks.

Pontoons had been gaining popularity throughout the early 70's. In 1979, Lowe brought forth their vision of a more feature-rich, easier to use pontoon boat. With the growing success of their pontoon line, Lowe Line changed the company's name to Lowe in 1981.

Lowe continued developing a reputation for building high quality, yet affordable aluminum boats and pontoons to suit almost any need. In 1988 Lowe was purchased by the OMC corporation.

A Unified Vision

In 1999, Lowe integrated its Roughneck, Sea Nymph and Suncruiser lines under the Lowe brand. This consolidation strengthened Lowe's equity and led to Genmar Holdings' purchase of Lowe in 2001.
